Analysis of chosen song.

For my music video,I have decided on using Bon iver-Skinny Love. I have picked this song as I think I could do a lot more with it and my ideas for it where better and not as simple as my idea for P.O.S.

Lyrics-

Come on skinny love just last the year
Pour a little salt we were never here
My, my, my, my, my, my, my, my
Staring at the sink of blood and crushed veneer

I tell my love to wreck it all
Cut out all the ropes and let me fall
My, my, my, my, my, my, my, my
Right in the moment this order's tall

And I told you to be patient
And I told you to be fine
And I told you to be balanced
And I told you to be kind
And in the morning I'll be with you
But it will be a different kind
And I'll be holding all the tickets
And you'll be owning all the fines

Come on skinny love, what happened here?
Suckle on the hope in light brassieres
My, my, my, my, my, my, my, my
Sullen load is full, so slow on the split

And I told you to be patient
And I told you to be fine
And I told you to be balanced
And I told you to be kind
And now all your love is wasted
And then who the hell was I?
And I'm breaking at the britches
And at the end of all your lines

Who will love you?
Who will fight?
Who will fall far behind?

I think this song is about Lost Love and relationships falling apart.
I think the first line "Come on skinny love just last the year" is about just simply trying to pull through a bad phase in a relationship and getting to how it used to be, and I think "Pour a little salt" may be a metaphor for "healing" pain or a broken heart from the demise of the relationship, or it could mean he wants to heal the relationship and start over again. "I tell my love to wreck it all,
Cut out all the ropes and let me fall" this line's meaning is obvious, he has basically given up on the relationship and stops fighting for it, lets his partner "wreck it all" and tells her to forget him. The third Stanza is about blaming his partner for the relationship falling apart and not being able to be "patient", "fine", "balanced" and "kind". "And I'll be holding all the tickets
And you'll be owning all the fines" means that he is ready to move on and be a grownup, but she is going to be worse of, " And you'll be owning all the fines". I think the forth stanza is Justin Vernon almost remebering what happened and asking himself what actully caused them to break up even though they loved each other. "And now all your love is wasted, And then who the hell was I? And I'm breaking at the britches, And at the end of all your lines" could mean that they have both wasted their time, "And now all your love is wasted". "And then who the hell was I?" could mean that he feels like he really worth nothing to her and wasnt really important, when he really cared for her. The very last line is simple to understand, He is pretty much saying you will not find anyone who cared for you like I did and she will not make anyone happy.
