Brief for A2 project.

I have chosen to make a music video for A2 media course work.
A promotion package for the release of an album, to include a music promo video.I have chosen to produce a cover for its release on DVD and a magazine advertisement for the DVD.


I am going to make a video for one of Bon Iver's songs or Optimist( We are not for them) By P.O.S.

Bon Iver is the name of Justin Vernon's current band, The band also consists of Michael Noyce, Sean Carey, and Matthew McCaughan. The genre is indie/folk. Bon Iver is a playing words from the french phase bon hiver meaning "good winter". "For Emma, Forever ago" is the first and only Full length release, Justin Vernon independently released it in July 2007, it was re-released in February 19, 2008. The band is signed to Jagjaguwar in the US and 4AD in Europe. Along with Bon Iver, Dinosaur Jr., Ladyhawk, Wilderness and Black Mountain along many others are signed to Jagjaguwar Records. As a label, they have been decscribed as an "indie rock" label. 4AD is a British independent record label that was started in 1979. Deerhunter, TV on the radio and The big pink are some of the newest and upcoming artists.


P.O.S is is a Hip-Hop artist who is signed to Rhythmsayers and a founding memeber of Doomtree. P.O.S stands for "Pissed Off Stef". He first started in a punk band when he was young, he was reluctant to go in to the Hip-Hop scene as he had very little respect for mainstream rap and what rappers sang about, but he soon realised that Rap and Hip-Hop is a form of expression just like his previous bands. He has a style of Hip-Hop that is difficult to label and put into a certain group or circle of artists as he usings singing techniques similar to old punk bands like Fugazi and Black Flag and refers to bands he used to listen to as a young kid.
